The Taste of Others

Agnès Jaoui co-writes and directs this comedy of manners set in the austere Provence of France. Unpolished along with ultra-pragmatic industrialist JeanJacques Castella (co-scripter Jean-Pierre Bacri) reluctantly attends Racine's tragedy"Berenice" in order to watch his niece play a bit part. He's taken with the drama's strangely familiar-looking leading lady Clara Devaux (Anne Alvaro). Throughout the course of the show, Castella soon recalls he promptly fired the actress and then hired. He goes out and signs up for language courses. Thinking he is nothing but an philistine with bad taste, he is rejected by Clara until her charms off her toes.
