Au Hasard Balthazar

A masterpiece from one of the filmmakers in the annals of cinema, Robert Bresson's Au hasard Balthazar follows the Balthazar as he is passed from owner to owner, some sort and some cruel but all with motivations beyond his understanding. Balthazar, whose life parallels that of the first keeper is truly a beast of burden, enduring the sins of human kind. But even though his powerlessness, he takes his fate nobly. During Bresson method of makeup, sound, and narrative, this narrative gets a moving parable about transcendence and purity.
